Clinical Courses
The clinical offerings are focused, hands-on courses in specialty areas designed to equip caregivers to provide enhanced client care. Programs can be customized and delivered on-site.
- Cultural Sensitivity at End-of-Life Care helps patients and caregivers communicate more effectively with one another across cultural barriers. The curriculum is unique in that it covers the “how” of communication as well as the “why.” 4 hours
- Visual Impairments of the Elderly helps caregivers understand the aging eye and the obstacles elderly with visual impairments may face. The course teaches caregivers how to modify activities for visually impaired elders in personal and home management, leisure and social activities. 6 hours
- Alzheimer’s Disease Care covers the physical/biological causes of dementia, signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s and its various stages and behaviors one may encounter when caring for a person with Alzheimer’s Disease and how to best respond. The program also explores the needs of the caregivers in the family and how your staff can respond to them with cultural sensitivity. 16 hours
- Rehabilitation Care provides a thorough understanding of rehabilitation services and covers each of the essential elements of speech therapy, physical therapy and occupational therapy. This program provides methods for working effectively with disability, psychological and cultural considerations. Distinguish your staff by providing the tools needed to care for your rehab patients. 24 hours
