Margaret: “It was a really good experience. It was a great program. I miss being in class…After being out of school for so long I was afraid, but class really boosted my confidence.”
She is now making $12.30/hour and will get a 50-cent raise next month.
Judy, a single mom, has finally gotten a job as a home health aide in an assisted living facility. She has not worked in a long time and her confidence was low. When our program manager asked how she feels now, she replied, “It has been a long road for me, but I’m good. I’m proud of what I’ve done.”
Marie, Another mother was desperate to work and was extremely grateful to start working at an assisted living facility. This is what she wrote to our program manager shortly after:
“I would like to say how very much I appreciate the vote of confidence you had in me and the wonderful reference you gave to my employer as well. You definitely put my foot in the door, so to speak and I will always be grateful. Thanks a lot Kelly, Not Just From Me But My Entire Family!

Jewish Family & Children’s Services had this to say about Elsa:
“Please send us another candidate like Elsa; we would definitely hire her.”
The family of the client she cares for adores her. The son called and told us Elsa is compassionate and wonderful – they love her. When the client moves to private pay, they have requested Elsa continue to be the caretaker for the mother because of the trusting relationship they have established and amazing way Elsa cares for the client.

At Little Sister’s Friends of the Elderly, a resident’s daughter said to Margaret:
“You just lighten everyone’s day.”
A resident cries when Margaret goes home for the day because she does not want her to leave. Another resident, who has Alzheimer’s, can only be calmed down by Margaret. She has a way of connecting to these residents that sets her apart from her peers.
